Power outage at SDTC

A few minutes ago we lost power at our San Diego Tech Center coloration provider's facility. Please keep an eye here for updates as we have them.

UPDATE: Power has been restored. If you are still having any connectivity issues, please send an email to support@m5hosting.com and our engineers will help as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!

UPDATE 18:09 PDT: All but 21 servers are back up. All hands are on deck, sorting these out as quickly as possible.

I thought M5 had backup power for our systems? What happened for that to fail too?

Saul: Yes, all systems here are designed to be redundant and highly available. In this case there was a widespread utility outage and the power systems in the data center failed to provide the designed availability. At this point, it is my understanding that the Automatic Transfer Switch failed to Transfer the load to generator power... but I'd prefer to wait for an offical report before saying that (!). I will be posting the explanation we receive from the data colocation facility operator when we get it. I expect this sometime mid-day Thursday.
